We are a Rights Respecting School
Today our Rights Respecting Steering Group did a presentation at assembly for the whole school. They congratulated all the children on the wonderful achievement of gaining the Silver Award. They introduced the new Article of the month.
It is Article 15: We have the right to meet other children and to join groups and organisations, as long as this does not stop other people from enjoying their rights.
Duty Bearers of the Month were also announced.
This month the children chose Ms Mc Neill and Father Charles Byrne and thanked them for giving the children access to their rights. They thanked Ms Mc Neill for giving them all the play equipment for the playgrounds and they thanked Father Byrne for giving them the right to practise their religion.
A new addition for this month was that a special certificate was given to the class who have been working hard to learn and use their Rights effectively. This was Mrs O'Hare's P.3/4.
The school will now progress towards the Gold Award for Rights Respecting Schools.
Well done, everyone!
