As we are a healthy eating school, P.6 joined in on ITV’s ‘Eat Them to Defeat Them’, ‘Veg Power’ campaign. Their Vegetable of the week was cucumber. Primary six pupils enjoyed a mindfulness lesson where they kicked off their shoes, put their feet up and relaxed for ten minutes whilst listening to some relaxing music. They placed their cucumber slices on their eyes as it has a nice, cooling effect, and helped them to relax.
They also got to sample some cucumber and to the children’s surprise they absolutely loved it!
Primary Six enjoyed researching interesting facts on cucumbers and had the opportunity to present their findings to the whole school at assembly.
