This Week at a Glance
What a very busy term this is! Have a look at our website to see all the fabulous learning we have been doing!
Thanks to Sustrans and Dave, who provided superb outdoor learning for all the P.5, P.6 and P.7 pupils on Tuesday! Excellent orienteering skills were learned!
We had the annual Connor McConville Tournament on Wednesday. Sincere thanks to Connor's family for allowing us to host this every year. Connor passed away 33 years ago and his memory is honoured through this tournament which this year saw almost 250 children from primary schools in the South Down area enjoy playing Gaelic football in an effort to win the much sought after prize of 'The Connor McConville Cup'! A great day of football was had by all and special thanks goes to Connor's family, our score master, Jimmie Cousins, Ms McNeill, for her organisation of the day, our referees, and of course our local schools who support us every year! Please check our website for a more detailed report.
We had our Fun Fitness Challenge, which ran all week and we had lots of exercise in the beautiful weather and of course we finished our week with Sports Day! Massive well done to all our children for their effort in taking part and enjoying supporting each other in events. Thanks also to our P.A. who provided refreshments for everyone who attended, including buying an ice cream for all our children! Thank you! Thanks to Ally in the Hen and Cock Coffee Dock for providing the ice cream, and tea and coffee for our families. Thanks to Clonduff GAC who allowed us to use their facilities. We couldn't do any of this without you! A special word of thanks to those children who helped do a litter pick of the grounds after the event. Well done! Finally a gigantic shout out to the teaching and non-teaching staff of our school, who organised all the events and made sure every child had a go in Sports Day. Thank you!
This week we will see the start of some classes summer trips so please check your calendar and read the attached notice.
Please ensure your child has the following everyday to school;
- a bottle of water to school
- suncream applied - staff are not allowed to apply suncream.
