The new sand pit! Articles 27 & 31
- My Article 31 - Children have the right to play and relax by doing fun things.
Article 27 - Children have the right to be safe.
Today the boys and girls got the opportunity to play in the outdoor sand pit. They were dressed in wellingtons and some even had their waterproof bottoms on which they really needed in the damp early morning play.
The children were digging, building sandcastles (one child told us this was the first time he built a sandcastle and he was so proud of it 🤗) scrapping and making patterns in the sand. Finally they learned how to wash their muddy welly boots
As the year is progressing you can see, especially the P1 children working together more and supporting each other in new things/adventures.
We are so lucky that the school has become a more safer environment with all gates locked which allows the school to promote outdoor learning safely.
A special thank you to Ciaran McCartan for the big digging tyres, PJ & Aideen McGinn and Elaine & Marty Havern for the sand. These are greatly appreciated.
