Spelling preparation and handwriting in Room 2
12th Dec 2023
The Primary One children have completed the first set of letter formations. This set of letters is known as the straight line set because they all start with a straight line i, l, r, n, m, h, b and p. Next term they will start the curly letter set which all begin with the letter c shape.
Primary Two started spellings after Halloween. To help the children learn their spellings and prepare for Friday’s spelling test the children do lots of spelling activities during the week in class. The photos below show them sharing and building the rhyming set - children stretch the word out to hear each sound and record the sounds. At the end they do a scan, find and copy spelling test from the IWB.
