Room 2 Maths Investigation
Maths Investigation week took us outside using some of our PE and outdoor play equipment. It also looked at balancing skills and throwing skills along with counting and estimating.
P2 had to estimate how many cones they could freewheel the scooter 🛴 to. After carrying out the skill then count the actual number of cones they were able to freewheel the scooter to. Every child got a few practice runs of freewheeling and discovered it was a more challenging skill than they thought. Then 3 turns at estimating and counting the actual number.
P1’s Investigation was similar only they had to throw a beanbag. Wow some children could throw really far!! Even past our line of cones.
It was great fun taking maths outdoors and making it fun 🤾♀️ 🛴
