Problem Solving with Izak9

Today the children in Room 3 were introduced to Izak9. First the children were put into teams and given the Izak9 boxes. Then they had to sort the cubes to match their team colour - red, green or purple. The children were then asked to build a wall with their 9 cubes using the numbers from 1 to 9. The children looked at the cubes, turned them around and had to check that they had the numbers the correct way round. Lots of team work was required. The children were challenged further by identifying numbers in the shapes and discussing numbers before and after in the various shapes.

The biggest challenge was identifying 2 numbers to make 8.

The children are looking forward to Izak9 visiting their classroom very soon. Well done Primary 2 on a very practical problem solving lesson. 🙂
