Prediction Skills in Primary 2

This term in literacy, we have been focusing on the skill of prediction.
First, the children watched part of a short animation based on the picture book Journey by Aaron Becker. The children then had to predict where they thought the little girl would go once she went through the door of the tree she drew. The children worked independently and drew a picture to illustrate their predictions. After the children shared their prediction drawings they finished off the activity by watching the end of the animation. Some predictions were correct but the children know that you don’t always have to be correct with a prediction. All the children thoroughly enjoyed this activity. There was lots of questioning and thinking during this session.
