Our school has invested and is involved in a 3 year programme where we are mentored throughout the year by a coach who has been assigned to our school. We are continually learning how to teach and implement the programme. We have a teaching manual of lessons to follow twice a week with our class to help theoir Social and Emotional Learning.
Each day we have a pupil of the Day which helps to build self-esteem. To recognise their strengths and be confident individuals. To develop social awareness in complimenting others and recognising the strengths in other people.
Part of this weeks task was group work. We all had to get into groups of 4 and 5 and take on a role. We are learning how to work together as a group with the rolls of Leader, Reporter, Researcher and Encourager. We spent so long picking our roles we nearly ran out of time to complete our activity. It was great working with our classmates in mixed ability groups.
