Article 28 - Every child has the right to an education.
Room 2 had a great day outside learning about birds and other animals during winter with Liz Farnon.
The day began with a story ‘Robin’s Winter Song’ and a story board to help explain the story. Then the children played several games to help them understand what animals do during winter and tried to find food birds and small animals can eat.
The children weaved some nature they found outside onto a prepared tree to create an evergreen theme.
Finally they finished the day with another story called ‘Night Tree.’ From this story the children learned how important it is to help feed the birds during winter. Liz had some food prepared for the children to hang on the trees outside our room. This allows the children to watch the birds feeding on the food they hung out for them.
