Maths week in Room 2

This week the P2 children have been recapping on the story of 7 and started working on the story of 8. All work has been visual and practical using numicon shapes and counters, then the children moved onto recording the story on whiteboards. 

P1 have been looking at sorting materials. They moved away from simple sorting for colour or size to looking at the shapes of the materials and what they can do e.g fly, crawl, have 4 legs, same fruit etc. This was developing thinking skills, making sets and sorting.
