Look at our hedgehog home we made at Eco club!
Today we made a hedgehog home for any hibernating hedgehogs next month.
We cut out a 15x15 cm door and two 15X5cm air vents in a cardboard box. We placed the box in a dry sheltered area in the north eastern corner of the hedge along our school grounds boundary which joins a field, with the door facing south. We taped a plastic compost bag around the box to waterproof the box and covered it with twigs and leaves. We tore strips of newspaper and placed it inside the box. We know we must not disturb the box in May and June if there are any babies nesting inside and aren't allowed to poke around it.
