International Women’s Day #20x20
International Women's Day was celebrated on Friday 8th March. Mrs Kearney's class enjoyed learning about famous women in history such as Mother Theresa, Cleopatra and Anne Frank. We took part in some Think-Pair-Share and Hot Seating activities.
As part of International Women’s Day we also got involved in the 20x20 Campaign and #ShowYourStripes. This initiative is about a cultural shift in our perception of girls and women in sport. By increasing visibility of women’s sport it will become a greater part of who we are and what we follow. Our class took the opportunity to play a part in the national movement and #ShowYourStripes for girls’ and women’s sport. We had great fun (attempting!!) to make the 20 x 20 sign at the GAA pitch.
