On Tuesday 21st March all our pupils in P.3 - P.7 benefited from a workshop given by Mr Patrick Mc Shane from Newry, Mourne and Down District Council. The topic was 'Litter, Waste and Re-cycling'. Pupils learnt that new brown re-cycling bins are being introduced into all areas of the NMDDC and these are for food and garden waste. These brown bins will be arriving in our school soon and will be a useful addition to our re-cycling opportunities. Pupils learnt about the harm caused to animals through litter being discarded in the countryside. They also learnt about the process of re-cycling and how plastic bottles can be used to manufacture football tops and other useful items.

Everyone enjoyed it and it led to much useful work being carried our on the care of our environment when the pupils returned to their classrooms.
