Celebration mass for everyone at the end of the school year - Wednesday 24th June 2020 at 11am

9th Jun 2020

We would like to give everyone notice that we are having a Celebration mass for the end of the school year on Wednesday 24th June at 11 am. Please put this date on your calendar now.

Each year we have a mass for our P7 pupils and their families in the school assembly hall. We cannot do that this year due to the current school closure. The end of year mass therefore has even more significance than usual as everyone can attend via the webcam.

In this mass we wish to ask for God’s blessing on every member of our school community, on every family in the parish and especially on our P7 pupils who are leaving us to move forward to secondary education.

Today, when Róisín McConville and Ethan were in school to do the Connor Mc Conville tournament raffle they acted as our independent witnesses. The child whose name was picked out of the hat to represent Saint Patrick’s P.S. at the mass is Daniel Devlin. The child who will represent Saint Pauls P.S. Cabra is Anna Kelly. It is lovely that there is a boy and a girl representing our schools.

Sadly, the mass will have to be strictly socially distanced. Usually only Father Byrne and Des attend Mass in the church. Father Byrne has kindly agreed that we can have three adults from each school and one child to represent each school at the mass.  All the staff from Saint Patrick’s would love to attend the mass but we have agreed that Miss Lawless will attend to represent the management of the school, Mr McConville will attend to represent the teachers and Miss Keenan will attend to represent the classroom assistants.  Mr Crowley wants all his P7 pupils to know that he is thinking of them and missing them and while they will not see him at the mass, due to social distancing, they will see him on the evening of the 24th June when we have our socially distanced ‘farewell’ gathering in the church car park (weather permitting).

The evening event is only for families of P.7 pupils as we will be following strict social distancing guidelines. More information on that will follow!
