A Busy, Fun-Filled Week of Home Learning in P6!
This week, Primary six completed excellent word work on fiction poetry and contractions. They recognised, sorted and wrote sentences using the ‘z’ sound. They learning how to recognise the ‘main idea’ and the 'purpose' in comprehension texts. They also were filled with mixed emotions as they competed their wonderful class novel, ‘Under The Hawthorn Tree’.
In Numeracy, P6 investigated time table problems and enjoyed some number puzzles.
The boys and girls created beautiful Reader Self Portraits. They coloured, using a key, to display their various reader habits. From this experiment, we can see that the majority of P6s read alone at home, they enjoy funny fiction stories and their favourite authors are David Walliams and Michael Morpurgo. Great work guys!
As a huge treat and because we can not enjoy a normal school trip together, this year P6 enjoyed a virtual school trip on Seesaw. They visited amazing places such as Planet Mars, San Diego Zoo and went deep sea diving! The kids enjoyed sharing their favourite part of their virtual trip.
Well done on all your fantastic work and thank you, parents for all your support.
