🧮🧮 Maths Week 🧮🧮
This week the children carried out some of the activities from Maths Week Ireland.
The first activity they took part in was studying the Fun Fair Poster. The learning was around identifying objects, numbers, and spatial elements, fostering vocabulary development, sentence structure, thinking skills, turn taking, and memory.
The second activity was Snakes and Ladders.
The children worked in pairs and again had to take turns. They were challenged with questions such as,
What number did you roll?
Are you moving forwards or backwards?
Describe to me what happened when you landed on space number 14?
What number would you like to roll next?
What is the least number of rolls of the dice you could make to win the game? Explain.
