Heartstart with P7

Primary 7 completed the Heartstart program today with resuscitation on the Little Anne dummies. Every Primary 7 child got the opportunity to practice chest compressions and mouth to mouth.

This is a very important life skill to have and a great opportunity to learn it in Primary 7 along with teaching the children how to put someone into recovery position. 

The boys and girls covered the following topics;

Conscious casualty - how to report an accident by ringing 999

Unconscious casualty - recovery position 

Serious bleeding - how to treat serious bleeding

Choking - back blows and abdominal thrusts

Suspected Heart Attack - signs to look out for

Cardiac Arrest - CPR
